As the Director of Business Development & Marketing for Mahal Bros Transport, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base by identifying new business opportunities. You will work closely with ownership, customer service, and the operations team to ensure customer needs are met and that we continue to provide extraordinary service. This role requires a combination of strong transportation sales expertise, industry knowledge in refrigerated OTR transport, relationship building, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 3 years refrigerated transportation sales, logistics, or cold chain industries. A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas. Must have a strong understanding of the refrigerated trucking industry and its unique challenges (temperature control, pricing, long haul transit, etc.). Working knowledge of transportation logistics, supply chain, and cold chain management is a must. Must have excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Must have strong understanding of refrigerated over the road transportation / logistics sales. Ability to build rapport and develop strong relationships with customers. Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach. Proficiency with CRM software as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Key Responsibilities: Prospect and Develop New Business:
Identify and target new clients requiring temperature-sensitive transportation of goods. Build and maintain a constant pipeline of leads through cold calling, networking, and industry related events.
Sales Presentations and Consultations:
Present Mahal Bros Transport to potential clients, clearly articulating the value we bring and how we differ from other carriers with our high level of attention to detail with service. Conduct sale calls on site to assess client needs and recommend tailored transportation solutions.
Account Management and Relationship Building:
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Continually offering our suites of services to them while staying connected to understand their evolving needs. Provide ongoing support to clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns.
Sales Strategy and Targets:
Develop and implement sales team targets and KPIs. Collaborate with all departments to develop strategies for new market offerings and customer retention. Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve and remain competitive bringing outside the box solutions to ownership and your team.
Collaboration with Operations Team:
Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless implementation, integration, communication, and service expectations are exceeded. Address any logistical challenges to ensure customer expectations are met.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status using current TMS and or develop tracking method. Provide regular updates and sales forecasts to ownership.
