Quantitative/Human Factors Researcher Location : Mountain View, CA (Hybrid) Job Type:

Program Scope of work :Conduct Research thermal, battery, charging, HW interaction sConduct Research on accessories including cases & charger sKey Deliverables :Plan and conduct 7 multi-phase research consisting of around 20 user studies .Benchmark Phone thermal comfort limit sFoundational research on Phone battery (user needs )Foundational research on Phone chargers (user needs, purchase Journey )Product research on hardware interactions with Phone sFoundational research on Phone cases (user needs, purchase Journey )Competitive benchmark on Phone cases (usage, quality )Design and usability research on Phone cases .Key Responsibilities :Scope research questions in alignment with cross functional tea mPlan research activitie sDesign study protocol Create highlight videos/screenshots .Conduct mix method research (qualitative & quantitative), user-centered design activities (persona development, journey-mapping and task-modeling), usability studies, and benchmarking .Analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data .Creating findings and recommendation reports from user studies .Required qualifications :Passion for delightful, minimalist, and useful products that people love to use .MS or PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Industrial Design, Psychology, Applied Anthropology, Sociology, Marketing, or related field .3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience in an applied research setting in consumer research .Proficient in quantitative, qualitative and foundational research methods. Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product development phase .Experience with behavioral data analysis (connecting behaviors and usage data to attitudes and perceptions) and experimental design .Deep understanding of user-centered design activities e.g. persona development, journey-mapping and task-modeling .Excellent observational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and storytelling skills , including techniques to present research findings and communication and persuade through rich user journeys .Additional preferred qualifications :Experience in consumer hardware research .Experience in international research. Experience in applied statistics and programming languages commonly used for data manipulation and computational statistics (such as SPSS, R, Python, etc), and with SQL .
