Position: Communications Assistant - DC Defenders

Reports to: Director, Communications & Media Relations

Location: Candidate MUST currently live in the Washington D.C. Area.

About the Position

The Communications Assistant will assist in handling all communications, information output, and media requests. They will also serve as the secondary contact for all home and road games during the season and postseason.

What you will do Serve as the secondary media contact for all team inquiries Ability to work all 10 game days (5 home and 5 road - remotely) and postseason Oversee media clips distribution Assist with writing of Game Notes (pre- and post-game) Manage credential requests and distribution on game days Coordinate press box (make copies, press box setup, broadcast booth setup, statistical information) Attend practices and community events as needed Assist with managing media requests and coordinating interviews Assist with press conferences (setup, recording/transcribing audio) What you will bring

Must have 2-3 years of football or sports media relations experience Applicant must have a strong desire to work in the sports industry, with specific knowledge of the game of football Applicant must be able to work the entire season, March through June Must work all 5 home games. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Adobe Creative Must be able to communicate and handle media in all capacities Gameday management experience preferred Other duties

Additional Details

The location of this role must be in Washington D.C. Primarily works in a remote office and/or an office environment but will include attending all home games and events in XFL team markets. Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting

Minimal Travel ( Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
