Job Duties:
- Promptly greets walk-in and phone guests with genuine warmth and helpful enthusiasm to determine interests and needs and follows our Sweet Steps of Service to create a superior guest experience.
- Maintains strong product knowledge to help guests selecting the right cake, flavor and decorations.
- Suggests additional merchandise, such as candles and cards, to complete unique celebrations.
- Processes guest orders efficiently and accurately utilizing point-of-sale system and invites guests to join our Email Club and Loyalty program to benefit from special promotions and remain connected.
- Upholds a clean and organized bakery presentation, which may include routine sweeping/mopping of the floor, and dusting/cleaning of countertops, windows and other surfaces.
- Ensures cake display remains replenished to ensure a strong visual presentation.
- Daily inventories and replenishes retail merchandise.
- Manages cake case temperature, restocking and cleaning per standards.
- Assembles cake orders according to guest specifications following cake decorating and quality/hygiene standards with precision.
- Prioritizes workload according to schedule to ensure all orders are complete at the appropriate pick-up or delivery time.
- Prepares cake decorations, boxes, bows, and other packaging materials in advance to ensure requisite supplies are readily available for cake order demands. Inventories crafting supplies and retail merchandise documenting low inventories for reorder.
- Cleans, sanitizes and restocks front-of-house and crafting station per standards. Completes daily opening and closing checklists.
- Evaluates frosted and decorated cakes to ensure standards are met. Notifies management of any quality control issues. Logs all wasted cake with date and reason.
- Pulls cake product from Chiller and refrigerator based on FIFO.
- Complies with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.
- Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record.
- Assists team members with their work as needed to ensure a productive, efficient work environment.

- Understands basic arithmetic; can perform calculations when needed and provide monetary change using U.S. currency.
- Has the capacity to stand for extended periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
- While no formal education or work experience is required, previous guest service experience at a bakery, restaurant or retail store is a plus.
- Completes and maintains Washington State Food Handlers permit.
