Job Summary

As part of the Enterprise Learning & Development team the Instructional Designer role will be responsible for creating engaging learning experiences by developing course content, collaborating with subject matter experts to identify training needs, applying instructional design theories, and utilizing multimedia tools to design effective learning materials, often including online modules, presentations, and assessments, to meet specific training objectives.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

Needs analysis:

Identifying training needs and learning objectives by collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Curriculum development:

Designing comprehensive course structures, including learning modules, activities, and assessments aligned with identified

needs.

Content creation:

Writing course materials, developing interactive elements, creating scripts for video content, and designing visual aids.

Technology integration:

Selecting and utilizing appropriate learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools to develop online courses.

Evaluation and revision:

Monitoring learner progress, collecting feedback, and making necessary adjustments to course content and delivery methods.

Collaboration:

Working closely with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of course content.

Instructional design principles:

Applying established instructional design theories and models to optimize learning outcomes.


Requirements:

• Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in writing and verbally

• Technical proficiency: Familiarity with authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, or comparable) LMS platforms, and multimedia software

• Project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Analytical skills: Analyzing learner data to identify areas for improvement

• Creative thinking: Designing engaging and innovative learning experiences

• Knowledge of adult learning theories: Understanding how adults learn best to tailor content accordingly

• Bachelors preferred, High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
