Come join TFE, Inc. as a Technical Editor supporting the work at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico. WIPP is the world's third deep geological repository licensed to store transuranic radioactive waste for 10,000 years. The waste is from the research and production of United States nuclear weapons.

The Technical Editor performs a variety of business-related assignments in program and project management including:
Proofread, revise, and edit technical information Assists with all aspects of technical writing including creating, developing, implementing, executing, and maintaining documents, procedures, and processes for technical editing activities Responsible for the communication and delivery of content and materials for developing learning activities and demonstrations Prepares a variety of technical, non-technical, and other types of documents in accordance with documented standards. RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares for and supports regulatory audits/inspections Offers assistance on interactive reviews with employees and outside professionals Evaluates documents prepared by others for clarity, consistency, completeness, style, syntax, and usage Assists authors with document modifications to ensure accurate, precise descriptions of activities or policies Coordinates multiple publication projects simultaneously. Establishes priorities and schedules as required Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Adheres to and supports the implementation of document control requirements, in accordance with the Document Management program, to ensure documents are compliantly processed throughout their life cycle Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree is preferred; however, a combination of education and/or relevant experience wherein the skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and accountabilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable High school Diploma or GED required Five years of relevant experience DOE experience is preferred Working knowledge of the WIPP facility, its mission, and the National TRU Program scope is desired. Previous WIPP Project or CCP experience is a plus SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to edit, write, and/or rewrite procedures, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat and possess the ability to develop and revise a wide range of document types. An example of writing skills may be required. Must have a knowledge of grammar, technical formats, general business writing, and technical writing/editing techniques, levels, and processes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and meet tight deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet client's deadlines Excellent customer service skills Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with leadership, team, and customers US citizenship

Light work-significant degree of walking or standing, lifting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
