Non-Clinical - Health and Information Management - Healthcare Authorization Spec

*Candidate must be in PST time zone* Candidates in CST, MST or EST time zones will NOT be considered for this role* Requirements: - High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent - Minimum 1 year of prior authorization experience -Experience submitting authorizations to the payors. - Minimum 1 year of processing and obtaining prior authorization requests for services rendered - Must have knowledge with both HMO and PPO plans for prior authorization - Experience with EMR such as EPIC - Have a fully functioning laptop or desktop computer -Knowledge of submitting authorizations to insurance companies **The position will be working in Genetics** Schedule information: - 5x8 Days, 08:00-16:30 PDT - 100% REMOTE POSITION Job Summary: Under general supervision this person is responsible for ensuring that insurance benefits are verified, patient responsibility estimates are calculated and communicated to the patient and/or family, and authorization is secured timely for all assigned service types. The incumbent is responsible for being a specialist in their area for internal and external customer inquiries, as well as supporting various communication needs as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
