Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and will support an IRAD program for a physics-based simulation environment focused on satellite operations.

What you’ll get to do:

Develop space system architecture models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Derive, allocate, update, and maintain requirements and specifications

Research other modeling and simulation (M&S) systems to define a future integration solution

Define high-level ConOps that provide a representation of a future integration solution

Support cost estimation to perform future integration solutions

Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, development, test, operation, and maintenance

Maintain design documentation

Work with orbital dynamics; guidance

Basic Qualifications:

BS Degree in STEM with 8 years experience

Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and processes

Basic understanding of at least one of: Software, Cyber, or Computer Infrastructure design and engineering

MBSE experience, preferably in Cameo, defining software systems architecture and design

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; software engineers, orbital analysts, and test engineers

Must have U.S. Citizenship with current or active Top Secret Clearance at the time of application with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Current or active Top-Secret clearance with Special Access Program

Experience/knowledge of test design and automation

Prior experience with Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO), Satellite Ground Station Software, Distributed M&S, and/or wargaming

Experience in deriving, allocating, updating, and maintaining requirements

Experience in deriving, allocating, updating, and maintaining requirements

Experience in ConOps development

Experience in Python

Experience in Agile Development

Experience working in an Agile Team

Experience performing systems analysis and design of

Agile/SAFe Features/Epics based on Capability Decomposition

Experience with designing, integrating, or operating Simulation and/or Training Software

Salary Range:

$124,900 - $187,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
