WMDT is seeking a creative journalist to join our news team. Must be a community-minded, strong storyteller with the ability to multi-task and work hands-on in broadcast news.

Responsibilities:

  1. Present and lead live broadcasts
  2. Develop and implement enterprise stories, ready to report as needed
  3. Produce newscasts as assigned
  4. Conduct interviews, research topics thoroughly and write clear and compelling scripts
  5. Establish and maintain key contacts for covering local content
  6. Produce content for all platforms including broadcast, web and social media
  7. Engage with the community and viewers through social media, appearances and events

Qualifications:

Degree in Journalism or Communication preferred but will consider related experience. Strong communication skills are required. Must be flexible with schedule. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Panasonic equipment preferred but will train the right individual.

Contract Details:

Three year contract: Wage range: $34,000 to $38,000/year, minimum 40/hrs. week, overtime possible, but not guaranteed.
