As part of the Communications & Content team, the content associate is responsible for creating, editing, and managing various types of content across a company's digital platforms, including website, blogs, podcasts, social media, and marketing materials, ensuring the content aligns with the brand voice, is accurate, and optimized for engagement and search engines, often collaborating closely with the larger marketing and demand gen teams to achieve these goals. You will partner with members across the organization including senior Product, Research, Design, Engineering and community to create high-impact content that supports all lines of business at Stack Overflow. You will also work with external partners to validate, define, and scope new ideas and content channels. Your work will help plot the course for Stack Overflow to become the most valuable destination for the world's current and next generation of technologists.
What you'll do:
- Collaboration: Be part of a small cross-functional team tasked to tell the types of stories that interest and excite the world's largest community of developers and technologists.
- Sponsored Content Support: Help build a content roadmap, maintain a backlog of projects, and manage the priorities for your team's implementation, enhancement, and support of sponsored blog and podcast materials.
- Content creation: Writing blog posts, articles, website copy, social media updates, email marketing content, and other relevant content formats.
- Content editing and proofreading: Reviewing and revising content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style consistency.
- Content optimization: Working closely with Demand Gen to ensure we are implementing SEO strategies to improve search engine ranking by using relevant keywords and meta descriptions.
- Content calendar management: Planning and scheduling content releases across different platforms and supporting all Stack Overflow priorities.
- Content analytics and reporting: Establishing and tracking key metrics like website traffic, social media engagement, and conversion rates (among others) to measure the effectiveness of content strategies.
- Collaboration with stakeholders: Working with the larger marketing team and other departments to align content with overall company goals.
- Research and trend analysis: Staying updated on industry trends and audience interests to develop relevant and engaging content. Leveraging market trends to identify potential ideas and disruptors and share them with leadership based on opportunity and/or threat.
What you'll need to have:
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong understanding of SEO principles
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS)
- Experience with social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and the ability to meet the deadlines of both
- Strong analytical skills to measure content performance
- Knowledge of graphic design tools can be beneficial
Preferred Qualifications
- An understanding of software and technology issues, particularly as they apply to developers.
- An understanding of Stack Overflow, other Stack Exchange network sites, and Stack Overflow for Teams.
- Experience with Hootsuite, Monday.com, Adobe, Canva, Google Analytics #LI-Remote #LI-KS1
