Scope of Job
PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support carbon-free electrification and transportation. The Company delivers integrated solar, storage, EV charging, and microgrid systems, to businesses and organizations. As a single full-service provider, PowerFlex customizes clean technology solutions to help clients achieve their energy and sustainability goals. Through the comprehensive PowerFlex X platform, PowerFlex leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client's distributed energy resources to reduce cost and maximize return on investment. Our technology was developed at Caltech, deployed with research partners like NASA, proven-out with customers like Netflix and Children’s Hospital, and now scaling to fleets, corporations, and municipalities nationwide.  

The Marketing Intern will be responsible for supporting the marketing team by assisting with content creation, digital marketing activities, event promotion, product materials, and campaign analytics. This role will focus on enhancing brand visibility, audience engagement, and marketing efficiency while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic marketing environment. 

Location
This role will be a hybrid position based out of our New York City Office and the selected candidate will be expected to be in-person at least 3 days a week. We will only be able to consider applicants who are local to New York City or are willing to relocate. Please note that relocation expenses will not be covered by the company. 

Working Schedule
We are seeking a full-time summer intern for a 12-week program. This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The internship will run from Monday, June 2nd, to Friday, August 22nd.

Responsibilities 

  • 30 % - Content Creation
    • Develop customer-facing materials, including presentations, briefs, case studies, e-books, and webinar support content
    • Assist in crafting engaging blog posts and articles that align with the brand's voice and objectives 
  • 25% - Digital Marketing Support
    • Contribute to website content updates, ensuring accurate and compelling messaging 
    • Collaborate on marketing campaigns, including drafting email copy and creating landing pages 
  • 15% - Social Media Assistance  
    • Schedule and monitor social media posts across platforms to grow engagement and reach
    • Research trending topics to suggest fresh content ideas
  • 15% - Event Promotion
    • Support the planning and promotion of events, including webinars and customer events like PowerFlex Driver Days and trade shows
    • Assist in creating marketing collateral and email outreach to increase event attendance
  • 10% - Analytics and Reporting
    • Monitor campaign performance and compile reports to measure success and identify improvement areas 
    • Assist in optimizing digital strategies based on key metrics and user engagement
  • 5% - Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align content with strategic goals
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative ideas for enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement 

Qualifications
Education/Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field as a rising junior or senior
  • Prior internship or coursework in marketing, communications, or related areas preferred 
  • Interest in Clean tech is a bonus 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts, including social media and email marketing 
  • Familiarity with platforms like Photoshop, HubSpot, Google Analytics, BrandFolder, and Webflow is preferred
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take accountability and ownership of projects, proactively seeking solutions and following through on tasks independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $20 - $25 hourly.

Physical Requirements  
Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds occasionally for events 

Working Conditions 
Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment.  Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites. 
This is a hybrid position based in New Yorik, requiring in-office attendance at least three days per week.
