The Designer position within the Roadway group is a skilled role where you will collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to complete drafting and design tasks.In this role, the Designer will assist with:Developing design plans for projects of varying complexity, including pavement overlays and roundabout designs.Performing various design tasks for roadway design projects.Creating 3D CAD models for roadway corridors and utility layouts as needed.Conducting project quantity calculations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Design – Under the supervision of a Project Manager:Prepare engineering drawings using the latest versions of AutoCAD and associated design suites, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.Prepare engineering drawings using both current and previous versions of MicroStation, Inroads, and Open Roads.Contribute to the timely completion of drawings and drawing updates daily, including CAD production, operation, and QA/QC.Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.Stay up to date with changes in procedural and technical aspects of drafting hardware and software applications.Manage CAD coordination issues with clients and sub-consultants.Assist in standardizing internal CAD processes and planning for design aesthetics.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma with specialized training in CAD software.4 years of experience in CAD design.Proficiency with computer software for office and operational functions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation software.Familiarity with plotter configurations, page setups, and plot styles.Interested in hearing more?
