Marketing Coordinator
Location: In-person, full-time at the Highlights Foundation Retreat Center, Milanville, PA
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Development
The Highlights Foundation amplifies the voices of storytellers who inform, educate, and inspire children to become their best selves. Through year-round workshops, retreats, and online programming, we support writers and illustrators in honing their craft, navigating the publishing industry, and building community.
Position OverviewThe Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in executing marketing initiatives that enhance brand awareness, engagement, and revenue. This hands-on role involves content creation, digital marketing, campaign execution, and data analysis. The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical, comfortable with digital tools, and excited to foster community and further the mission of the Highlights Foundation through marketing.
Key ResponsibilitiesContent & Email Marketing- Develop and update web copy and blog posts to support programs and SEO.
- Create marketing assets, including graphics, photos, and videos (as skills allow).
- Manage and execute email campaigns, maintaining the marketing calendar.
- Analyze email performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage Facebook, Instagram, and other social channels, responding to comments and messages.
- Develop content strategies for program promotion and community building.
- Create social media assets, including graphics and short-form video content.
- Use Google Analytics to monitor website and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain CRM records, email lists, and content management systems.
- Generate reports on marketing effectiveness and audience growth.
- Administrative support for fundraising data and donor stewardship.
We understand candidates may not be experts in all areas but should be proficient in at least one and eager to learn others.
Required Skills:- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in social media management and digital content creation.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams.
- Experience with graphic design (Canva, Adobe, or similar).
- Basic video editing or photography skills.
- Understanding of PPC advertising and audience targeting.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and website management (WordPress).
- Ability to analyze data and marketing performance.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
