About the RoleAs a Senior Technology Systems Designer , you will take the lead in designing advanced telecommunications, audio-visual, and security systems for a variety of projects. You will guide and mentor technology designers, ensuring high-quality deliverables while collaborating with project managers, consultants, and design teams . Additionally, you will play a key role in business development , helping to expand client relationships and contribute to project pursuits.
This role reports to the Technology Studio Lead and has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Technology Systems Design team .
Key Responsibilities Design & Technical Leadership:- Lead the design and execution of large-scale, complex technology projects .
- Provide mentorship and professional development to Technology Systems Designers.
- Ensure high-quality design solutions by adhering to industry standards and quality control procedures .
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop programming, conceptual, and detailed designs.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Facilitate meetings to build consensus and effectively resolve design challenges.
- Review construction documents and shop drawings to ensure consistency with project goals.
- Act as a liaison between Technology Systems Designers, AV Systems Designers, and project leadership.
- Stay up to date on emerging technology trends and educate team members accordingly.
- Utilize Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools to track and manage client relationships.
- Participate in market development initiatives , focusing on new business opportunities.
- Help grow existing client relationships through strategic engagement and project execution.
- Contribute to RFP responses and project interview processes .
- Work closely with senior leadership to identify and mitigate design-related risks.
- Support project managers and studio leads in resolving design challenges.
- Assist in shaping the future direction of technology design within the firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Media Arts Production (Audio/Music/Film/Video), or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the design and installation of audio, video, and technology systems .
- Expertise in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam for developing technical drawings.
- Experience with CSI 3-part format specification writing.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
