The Opportunity:
The UI Developer role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of UX design and front-end development, offering a unique opportunity to shape the user experience. To succeed in this role, you should have experience with front-end development, interaction design, UI prototyping, and a history of projects that include software development examples. You will support the creation of user interface component development and front-end code standards that address our client's needs and grow our business through a user-centered approach to agile product development.
The responsibilities include concept design, development, and implementation of UI layouts, components, and assets related to software applications and design systems. The UI Developer may also create graphical assets, and style guides that support the product experience.
The UI Developer works closely with a team including UX designers, product stakeholders, and software engineers.

UI Development:
Implement designs into functional and responsive Angular components, templates, and pages, ensuring a seamless user experience and consistent styles. Standards:
Develop, document, and promote front-end development guidelines, best practices, and standards across the user experience. Create components that can be reused and styles managed through a strong understanding of cascading style sheets (CSS). Design System:
Manage UI component projects through the full lifecycle on multiple projects and initiatives from early ideation to detailed execution, through delivery, design and implement a reusable library of UI components and graphic assets for use throughout the platforms. Design and Prototyping:
Utilize design tools to create component and template designs, graphic assets, and prototypes, iterating based on feedback and user testing. Problem Solving:
Identify and troubleshoot UI problems (e.g. responsiveness, findability, usability, continuity, etc.). Propose opportunities for improvement based on observation, user feedback, and research. Research:
Participate in competitive analysis, user research, evaluate feedback, and translate findings into final shared components and UI development. Collect insights and gather data to deepen our understanding of user needs, behaviors, and mental models. Collaboration:
Present design reviews and concepts to cross-functional teams. Work closely with stakeholders, designers, and engineering teams. Must be skilled in leading discussions to foster a collaborative approach to design, requirements collection, solution review, and ongoing feedback. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree 1+ years' work experience in one of Carrier's Early Careers Leadership Programs (LPs) and currently enrolled in one of Carrier's Leadership Programs (LPs) with successful completion of the program in June 2025 Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, Human Factors (HCI), or equivalent experience in the disciplines above. 2+ years of experience as a front-end developer, UI/UX designer, or similar role. Background working with data-intensive enterprise applications Proficiency in Angular, CSS/SASS, HTML, and TypeScript. Experienced in using frontend frameworks like Bootstrap or Material UI. Familiarity with making requests to and receiving data from REST APIs. Ability to design, prototype, and implement UI interactions. Working knowledge of design and wireframe tools (e.g. Axure, Figma, Adobe) Solid understanding of design thinking and modern front-end development processes. History of projects highlighting UX/UI development projects. Portfolio of UX design and graphic design examples is a plus. Engaged team player; strong communication and listening skills to collaborate with various stakeholders including other designers, product teams, software engineers, and end users. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals. Experience using collaboration tools including Confluence, Jira, or similar software; and using Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, Etc.) Adaptable and able to transform ambiguity into intuitive UI designs. Perform out-of-the-box design thinking, collaborate with others, and make a difference every day!
