Our Mission is Simple: Make Good Loans Provide Exceptional Service, Every Time Protect The Firm Build The Future Position Overview Asset Based Lending (ABL) is seeking a Technical Writer with experience in mortgage lending, quality assurance (QA), and technical documentation to support our loan origination processes. This role will focus on creating and maintaining clear, concise, and accurate documentation for system enhancements, policies, and procedures while ensuring seamless communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and operations teams to document system changes, facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), and lead training and rollout efforts for new features. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content, and a proactive approach to improving documentation processes. Key Responsibilities Technical Documentation & Content Creation Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, system workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials. Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible for both technical and non-technical audiences. Create release notes and FAQs to support the rollout of new features and system enhancements. Testing & Quality Assurance (QA) Support Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) by documenting test cases, tracking issues, and ensuring new features meet business needs before deployment. Work closely with business analysts and developers to ensure system changes align with operational requirements. Maintain version control of technical documents and ensure updates are properly recorded. Cross-Functional Communication & Training Collaborate with internal teams to document new system functionalities, workflows, and processes. Lead training sessions, demos, and presentations to educate business users on system updates and best practices. Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to refine documentation and improve system adoption. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in technical writing, business analysis, or quality assurance within the mortgage lending or financial services industry. Experience with loan origination systems (LOS), such as Encompass (preferred). Strong ability to translate technical information into clear, business-friendly documentation. Experience leading or supporting UAT, system testing, and rollout processes. Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance (preferred). Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Confluence, or Jira. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira, Asana, or FreshService (preferred).
