On August 1st, 2024, the downtown Honolulu office proudly launched as Northwestern Mutuals newest Network Office. Previously operating under a Network Office in San Diego, this transition marks a significant expansion in Hawai’i, allowing for more localized decision-making and a deeper commitment to enhancing the lives of the Hawai’i community through comprehensive financial planning. 

Role Overview:

As our Director of Marketing, you'll be a strategic, data-driven thought leader, spearheading our Marketing Engagement Program (MEP) and acting as the bridge to Northwestern Mutual corporate offices. As a key member of the Managing Partner’s leadership team, you'll drive our market presence and elevate the productivity and revenue of select financial advisors. You'll manage internal and external marketing events, support financial advisors with bespoke marketing plans, and expand our brand presence across Hawaiʻi.

Key Responsibilities:

For the Office:

  • Design and execute impactful marketing events, from small gatherings to large-scale functions.
  • Lead internal culture-building initiatives and external business development events.
  • Enhance local brand awareness, especially within multicultural and diverse markets.
  • Collaborate with corporate offices to measure marketing program impact and ROI.
  • Oversee marketing education and training for all advisor segments.
  • Implement marketing strategies for financial advisor recruitment.
  • Maintain key community, media, and business partnerships.
  • Manage all digital presence, including websites, social media, and digital leads.
  • Support local public relations, advertising, and philanthropic efforts.
  • Develop and manage the strategic marketing plan and budget.

For Select Financial Advisors:

  • Create and implement customized marketing plans to boost productivity and revenue.
  • Plan and execute strategic client and prospect engagement activities.
  • Conduct regular marketing consultations and provide expert advice on key marketing tools and strategies.
  • Oversee advisor marketing budgets and digital assets.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary starting at $95,000 with an additional $10,000-$15,000 in incentive compensation

Qualifications:

  • Strong connection to Hawaiʻi and deep knowledge of the local market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, or communications.
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with significant event strategy and execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-driven leader with a dynamic, inquisitive personality.
  • Proven track record in developing and administering successful marketing programs.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media technologies (e.g., Sprinklr, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).
  • Financial services experience is a plus.
  • Previous sales or business development experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights/weekends for events.
