Kid Spark Education is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering all children, especially those from underserved and underrepresented communities, to learn and love STEM. We develop innovative STEM learning programs and solutions, share them with schools and informal learning providers across the country, and support educators as they mentor the next generation of inventors, leaders, and creative problem solvers.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing Kid Spark Education’s mission by increasing awareness of our innovative STEM education programs and solutions, as well as our STEM equity efforts to provide learning opportunities for all children to learn and love STEM. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication initiatives that effectively engage educators, philanthropic partners, and other key stakeholders.

Through clear, compelling storytelling and targeted campaigns, the Marketing & Communications Manager will drive interest in Kid Spark’s programs and create opportunities to strengthen partnerships, expand fundraising efforts, and grow program adoption. Working collaboratively with internal teams, graphic designers, and contracted service providers, this individual will ensure a cohesive brand presence, manage marketing campaigns across multiple channels, and analyze performance to continuously optimize results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Development & Storytelling: Write and produce engaging content, including blog articles, newsletters, case studies, videos, and marketing collateral that clearly communicate Kid Spark’s mission, impact, and programs to professional audiences.
  • Strategic Marketing Campaigns: Plan and manage integrated marketing campaigns to promote Kid Spark’s education solutions, generate leads for the sales and fundraising teams, and raise awareness of STEM equity initiatives.
  • Social Media Strategy & Advertising: Develop and implement effective social media marketing strategies, including organic content, paid campaigns, and targeted ads, to increase visibility, grow engagement, and drive measurable results.
  • Video & Photo Production: Oversee the creation of professional video and photo content by working with contractors to produce high-quality assets for marketing campaigns, presentations, and communications.
  • Digital Advertising & SEO: Collaborate with contracted service providers to manage Google Ads, PPC campaigns, and SEO efforts, driving website traffic and expanding Kid Spark’s reach to new audiences.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Track, analyze, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and digital strategies. Use data-driven insights to refine messaging, optimize campaigns, and improve results.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage production schedules for all marketing and communication projects, ensuring priorities are balanced, timelines are met, and deliverables meet quality standards.

EDUCATION AND SKILL

  • College degree in marketing and communications, or related experience.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with experience creating clear, engaging, and professional content.
  • Demonstrated experience in social media marketing, including paid campaigns, ad management, and analytics across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in Google Ads, Google Analytics, SEO, and CRM tools (HubSpot preferred).
  • Experience producing and managing video and photo content creation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative campaigns and solutions.
  • Highly organized with experience managing production schedules and workflows.
  • Experience in education, philanthropy, or nonprofit communications is a plus.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: 100% employee covered health and dental insurance. Option to add dependents at employee’s cost. New full-time employees will accrue 160 hours of vacation (20 days) annually.
