Job Summary: This position is responsible for driving strategic growth in the Hardware and industrial channels through marketing programs, promotional development, and execution. This includes assisting in developing and executing marketing plans, implementing promotional plans, and supporting new product launches with sales and other marketing disciplines
This Channel role is responsible for devising, launching, creating, and maintaining Makita marketing programs and promotions for Dealers, Wholesalers, and all other customers to grow Makita’s product sales within the US. Other responsibilities include creating and developing marketing resources (product displays, digital applications, etc.) to channel customers and sales representatives. This also includes managing tactical execution elements associated with channel management, including communications, marketing program support, and budget /expense management.
Salary: $95,000 - $140,000 per year DOE
This position is on-site in La Mirada, CA
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and execute channel field distribution, and influence sales programs and promotions based on data-driven channel analysis, while maintaining an intense customer focus, integrating with Brand and Product plans and business and Sales Objectives on time and within budget.
- Own execution of new programs, promotions & product introduction efforts, including coordination with sales, finance, legal, product, and brand, in program development, communication strategy, and sales tool development (i.e., communications, literature, merchandising, etc.), training tools, and execution.
- Direct customer interface supporting field sales teams with emphasis on supporting business goals while establishing strong connections to business strategy and brand positioning.
- Implement customer and internal sales team initiatives to drive and leverage growth in new and existing channels; providing cost-effective and demanding marketing program plans that achieve business goals related to Product Launches.
- Make strategic recommendations and drive business case development for growth with channel partners.
- Report and analysis of key channel metrics and progress against channel goals.
- Assist assigned channel/accounts with customized programming maximizing opportunities.
- Drive execution and administration for online Marketing Resource Center into dealer channels.
- Work closely with Product Management & Brand Marketing Managers to support ongoing priorities, including internal communication processes, product presentations, trade shows, research, and competitive intelligence.
- Manage and oversee the marketing budget.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.

- Understand distribution channels and target audience(s) key needs/desires and purchase behavior.

Education, Skills, and/or Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications or related subjects
- 5+ years of channel marketing or similar industry experience
- Knowledge of the Industrial / commercial hardware industry is a plus
Physical Demands:
- May be subjected to working extended and/or irregular hours
- Up to 20% travel which includes the weekends: the ability to go to job sites
- This position is required to sit for intermittent periods with occasionally being required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling boxes up to 75 lbs. may occasionally be required.
- Able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises and/or hazardous conditions
