Job Title: Mechanical Design Lead/Checker Job Location: Louisville, KY 40223 Onsite Requirements: Mechanical Design Team Lead experience Autocad, Industrial Equipment Design Job Description: Our client requires a Mechanical Design Lead/Checker experienced with the AutoCAD suite of products (AutoCAD, Plant3D, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor, etc.) to design components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies for their Industrial Heat Exchanger product line. These are Mechanical and Structural designs of non-pressure assemblies, pressure parts, structural component assemblies, and detail drawings of equipment. In addition to hands-on design, occasional responsibilities will include Leading Design meetings, facilitating design reviews, and doing final Checking on all designs. Tasks/Responsibilities: General: Prepare major component sub-assembly, sections, and detail drawings, calculations, bill of materials, and 3D models for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and associated equipment. Supervise the development of drawings. Design: Using Autodesk suite of design software (AutoCAD, Plant3D, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor, etc.), prepare major assembly, section, and detail drawings and itemized bill of materials. Generate weight calculations for parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. Develop and maintain 3D models of piping and equipment. Provide thorough checking of drawings and bill of materials. Revise drawings. Create project as-built drawings if required. Assist in development of General Arrangement and Setting drawings. Team Lead: Review project customer specifications. Coordinate with Associate Project Engineer on the project to which they are assigned. Communicate and assist other departments with calculations and data sheets. Check Final Designs. Education/Experience: BS or Associate's degree preferred. Comparable experience is acceptable. 5+ years CAD design experience (HRSG CAD design or similar preferred). Experience with Autodesk suite of design software (AutoCAD, Plant3D, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor, etc.). Experience Leading Design Teams, Facilitating Design meetings and reviews, Design Checking. Knowledge of ASME codes and product application (preferred not required). Must be organized and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. ** 3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position. 3rd party subcontractors need not apply.
