Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports – including Amazon MGM Studios-produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add-on subscriptions such as Apple TV+, Max, Crunchyroll and MGM+. All customers, regardless of whether they have a Prime membership or not, can rent or buy titles via the Prime Video Store, and can enjoy even more content for free with ads.

Key job responsibilities

As a Principal Product Manager-Tech within Publishing Excellence, you will define and build the Prime Video partner experience for the Media Supply Chain as well as the Prime Video customer video streaming experience worldwide. You will participate in developing the Prime Video media (video, audio, timed text) strategy and vision, and develop product roadmaps to execute on that vision. In this role, you will define the strategy and execution of Media Engineering including supporting key step-change deliverables for Prime Video (e.g. new media formats) and enriching media parts to enable compelling, high quality and personalized customer experiences such as Ads, Trust and Safety, Accessibility, and Localization of Media Content.

This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work closely with engineering, project management, design, operations, finance, legal, business development, customer service, content acquisition, and executive teams to bring products to market, develop and grow business opportunities, and enhance our customer experience.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly analytical, resourceful, and customer focused. They will have the ability to communicate clearly both to technical and non-technical audiences. They will have a consistent track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the media domain (e.g. media supply chain, media specs, ads insertion), and be familiar with the industry and trends.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of technical product or program management experience

3+ years of end to end product delivery experience

Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering

Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

Experience in one or more areas of core media and entertainment industry (media supply chain, media specs, ads insertion)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
