BG Studio International is an award-winning International Design firm based in NYC specializing in luxury boutique interiors. The firm designs and manages large scale luxury hospitality and high-end multifamily residential projects throughout North America and Europe. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of interior design, especially in the realm of hospitality and cruise ship design. We specialize in creating breathtaking spaces that captivate and delight guests, setting new standards for luxury and comfort on land and at sea.

We are currently seeking a full-time senior interior designer with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience. Suitable candidates will be highly motivated to work in a design driven environment, out-of-the box, and creative multi-media problem solver with a forward-thinking approach to design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in interior design or interior architecture
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience (leadership preferred) in hospitality design, with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.
  • Exceptional design skills with the ability to provide clear and critical design reviews to project teams
  •   Desire to develop, motivate and mentor young design professionals
  • Excellent communication skills and experience as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and project teams
  •   Demonstrated success building, nurturing, and sustaining client relationships
  • Proactive and ability to meet project timelines, budget and client expectation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Power Point, Bluebeam, Word and Excel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive FFE and material resource knowledge base (domestic and European). This is a CRITICAL skill and will be discussed during the interview
  • Lead the creative efforts on projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies from the initial conceptual stages through construction and installation
  • Providing design direction for the Interior Team from Concept through DD, and partnering with architects to ensure design intent is carried through CD and CA.
  • Review and comment on junior designers work to ensure design vision is achieved including: Interior materials, FF&E selection and boards, Art, and Accessories.
  • Mentor and develop BG Studio designers; provide creative direction to design teams
  • Extensive sources and resources knowledge base (domestic and international). 
  • Quality Control: Oversee writing specifications and furniture budgets; oversee all aspects of FFE and interior finishes within the architectural drawings
  • Manage design aspects of all projects
  • Able to prioritize deadlines
  • Present projects and participate in client meetings.
  • Control project costs of staffing during the duration of the project
  • Develop staffing needs to develop project schedule
  • Represent the firm in panel discussions, roundtables etc.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts
