Job Description
This position serves as support to the Director of Visual and Performing Arts as well as the Music, Drama and Visual art faculty members in the organization of basic departmental functions. Further support includes assisting with the planning and execution of events, performances and productions, and possible additional involvement in The Arts based on existing needs and talents of the candidate.

Potential Overall Responsibilities
General Departmental Duties
- Serve as support to the Director of Visual and Performing Arts (responsibilities TBD)
- General office management
- Maintenance of the Visual & Performing Arts/Walker Center Google calendar
- Organization of various events and trips
- Ordering and maintaining of supplies, instructional and otherwise
Curricular/Extracurricular
- Filling existing extracurricular or instructional needs within the Arts based on existing needs and the candidate's talents.
Potential Visual Art Specific Responsibilities
Event/Office Management
- Curate and develop shows for upper and lower Baker Galleries
- Print photographs for gallery shows and other departments on campus (Photoshop required)
- Mat photos and other art work using mat cutter
- Frame various type of work – photos, paintings, and other mediums
- Maintain/create gallery databases
- Catalogue artwork
- Hang shows in all three galleries
- Design gallery cards (InDesign/Pagemaker)
- Write/edit/design gallery blurbs
- Organize New York trip each spring – lodging, travel, museums, theatrical shows
- Organize and cater receptions for all galleries
- Various arrangements for guest Teachers/Performers/Artists including travel, housing, etc.
- Design skills
Potential Music Specific Responsibilities
Event/Office/Equipment Management
- Maintain/Create inventory databases (Jazz/Strings/Concert Band/Choirs/Musicians/Uniforms)
- Catalogue and maintain the music library
- Print/frame and select photos for rotating photographs in Music Lab
- Organize and maintain Pipe Band uniforms and accessories, including measurements and communication with Lochcarron weavers
- Design and produce several publications: Winter Concert, Spring concert, Hill Brown concert, Candlelight Service, etc. (Photoshop/InDesign/Pagemaker)
- Organize trips for department including guest performers/teachers/departmental travels
- Coordinate various aspects of Winter/Spring musical through Music and Drama Departments
Potential Drama Specific Responsibilities
Production-Related Responsibilities
- Notice of Auditions and essential dates to actors/actresses.
- Obtain Performance Licensing
- Print and Edit Script for Director
- Establish Publicity Timeline and Post information on social media accordingly.
- Communicate upcoming shows with alumni, parents, and community members.
- Retain relationships with existing theaters in regards to rental agreements and publicity.
- Create Playbill - Gather and edit actor bios - Design and proof playbill
- Schedule Photographer and Videographer
- Determine and source necessary props for a production
- Coordinate with Grounds and Housekeeping to ensure signage is placed, spaces are tidy and all necessary equipment is in place for a production.
- Preserve and restore historical information in regards to the drama department and specifically productions.
- Assist with Tech workdays and Tech week to ensure proper flow of events and placement of actor materials, including but not limited to props.
