  • Do you have a knack for building efficient systems and processes to improve team performance?

If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Digital Advertising Lead & Project Manager role.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter to transition into a leadership role and grow our paid media department. As our Digital Advertising Lead & Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly—from strategy development to execution oversight, freelancer management, and client communications. While we rely on freelancers to execute campaigns, you will oversee and manage our paid digital advertising services.

You'll work closely with clients, freelancers, and internal team members to ensure paid media efforts align with broader marketing strategies and business objectives. Additionally, you will play a key role in expanding our freelancer network and establishing systems and processes that create consistency in performance, execution, communication, and responsiveness.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a proactive, business-minded digital advertising expert who thrives on collaboration and problem-solving. You can speak the language of both clients and digital marketers, ensuring alignment between business objectives and campaign execution.

You should be:

  • Client-facing, well-spoken, and a strong written communicator
  • A strategic and data-focused thinker who understands paid media beyond just execution—considering business goals, budget constraints, and long-term planning
  • A capable project manager who can oversee multiple moving parts while maintaining high-quality results
  • Comfortable managing freelancers with differing personalities and work styles to ensure their work aligns with strategic objectives and company standards
  • Excited to grow a network of freelancers
  • Skilled in creating systems and processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and accountability among freelancers
  • Experienced in working hands-on with paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Freelancer Management & Expansion: Oversee freelance paid advertising specialists, ensuring their work aligns with client goals and meets performance standards, while sourcing and onboarding additional specialists.
  • Client Strategy & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for paid media clients, understanding their goals, budgets, and expectations to build our paid digital advertising strategy.
  • Sales & Audits: Conduct initial audits of prospective clients' advertising accounts to support sales discussions and attend sales calls as the paid media expert.
  • Campaign Oversight & Optimization: Set direction for paid media accounts, collaborate with freelancers on strategy, and ensure execution aligns with client objectives.
  • Project Management: Work alongside other project managers to integrate paid advertising into broader digital marketing strategies for clients.
  • Process Development & Standardization: Establish systems and workflows to ensure consistency in execution, communication, performance expectations, and freelancer response times.
  • Continuous Learning & Industry Awareness: Stay informed on the latest paid advertising platform updates, trends, and industry discussions. Ensure freelancers are also staying up to date and incorporating new features and best practices into campaign strategies.
  • Hands-on Execution (as needed): While the primary focus is oversight and strategy, you should be comfortable stepping in to manage campaigns when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.)
  • Experience managing client relationships and setting strategy for paid campaigns
  • Strong understanding of paid media performance metrics and optimization techniques
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Prior experience managing freelancers or working in an agency environment is a plus
  • Experience creating and implementing processes to improve team performance
  • Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (Google Analytics, Looker Studio, etc.)
