SUMMARY

The

Designer/Drafter

Intern works under the direction of the Engineering Manager to provide shop-ready detailed drawings from assembly layouts. This internship offers responsibilities related to designing and drafting new products or sustaining engineering of existing products as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Collaborate with Designers to generate electrical and mechanical drawing packages (schematics + assembly) using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical ECAD design software.

Modify existing electrical drawing packages (schematics + assembly) and create new designs using AutoCAD and/or EPLAN electrical design software.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Basic understanding of general engineering principles.

Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.

Ability to carry out tasks successfully with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated capacity for innovative and creative thinking.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data appropriately.

Ability to work part-time as an intern.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Currently pursuing education in Designing and Drafting; training will be provided.
