FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt
SUMMARY: This position works with developing and creating social media marketing as prescribed by department and protocols for social media messaging including Linked In, Facebook, Instagram and others as assigned. Work with department head on Marketing and Branding.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will interface, as needed, with CMO. Create and curate content for social media, follow current members and promote based on regular monthly updates to IECC rosters.
- Will manage and post on LinkedIn as CEO, keeping traction and population growth on his page.
- Create and maintain social media outreach, Marketing, and Branding.
- Will visit classes throughout IECC footprint to keep a photo cache of actual classes in session, labs performed, and post in real time as desired. Create files of updated IECC classroom activities.
- This position will maintain a regular monthly schedule for promotion of Education Department news and information, apprenticeship programs, Workforce Development news throughout the footprint, WFD programs, promotional schedule of all events and Continuing Education classes and launching of events, to include internal eblasts as well as social media messaging.
- Blog about the industry and maintain current campaigns.
- Message and announce any legislative changes and news as informed by Leadership team.
- Acts as internal Editor of writings/collaterals of staff. Shall edit/create collaterals as needed and make sure collaterals are kept updated on scheduled basis.
- Networking with current chapter members to encourage messaging and engagement; engage members in IECC projects.
- This position will outreach to members interested in being Spotlighted, visit member jobs or headquarters for “photo opps” as member promotion(s).
- Assist in both scouting event locations for feasibility and in working the events themselves.
- Will attend events to curate and to post in real time to desired platforms.
- Promote all programs offered by chapter from Apprenticeship to Workforce Development Pre-Apprenticeship and STA models.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful Candidate will be comfortable working as part of a team guided by the mission, vision, and strategic goals of IEC Chesapeake, and meet the following qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in business development, preferably in the electrical industry- or related.
Must be proficient in writing and social media posting.
Valid motor vehicle license and clean driving record required. Ability to travel throughout IECC’s territory.
Must possess a high level of strong organizational skills, attention to details orientation, efficient management of time and resources as evidenced by ability to set and meet clear deadlines; and excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Interest in or history of Marketing and Branding skills are a plus to this position.
Proficient in the use of Windows OS, Microsoft Office-to include WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and navigation of Internet.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.
Standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and viewing computer screens for long periods of time. Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force up to 40 lbs.
Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Primary work environment is in HQ in Laurel, Maryland. Local vehicle travel required as necessary up to approximately 70%.
