Position Overview

We’re looking for a Digital Content Producer to strengthen and expand our growth in digital journalism. You’ll make sure all our best content makes the leap from on-air to digital platforms, collaborate with editorial teams, create new content when needed and ensure that Civic Media’s mission and information reach diverse communities across Wisconsin. The focus is on writing and editing multimedia stories – text articles with images, audio and video – that build larger and engaged audiences. While the position is hybrid, applicants must reside in Wisconsin.

  4. Share stories and multimedia content on approved social platforms on a regular basis and in accordance with the organization’s social strategy and best practices. Participate in social media planning and strategy sessions.

  5. Create photo galleries, graphics, data visualizations, tables, extra audio, video, etc. to enhance digital content.

  6. Regularly contribute to projects, partner collaborations and series as directed.

  7. Occasionally pitch, research and report original content for digital and on-air platforms.

  8. Participate in daily and weekly editorial meetings with colleagues to discuss topics, guests and content. As directed, train members of those teams to grow their own digital capabilities and fluency.

  9. Participate in regular consultations with the Content Director and others to talk about content/digital strategies and ongoing collaborative efforts.

  10. Stay current on best practices in digital journalism and recommend ways to enhance Civic Media’s offerings.

  11. Maintain extensive knowledge of issues, events and newsmakers across the state.

  12. Maintain the standards of journalistic ethics and excellence described in Ethical Guidelines for Editorial Staff: https://civicmedia.us/news-ethics-and-standards
