SUMMARY
The Textile Designer is responsible for creating and producing original graphic and/or textile print designs that reflect the assigned brand’s aesthetics within assigned calendar deadlines. The designer should have experience in creating artwork layouts and pattern repeats.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create original artwork for prints, wovens, and graphics seasonally in support of multiple brands as needed.
  • Translate trends, concepts, and direction into brand-specific prints.
  • Create original artwork from design direction.
  • Utilize design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Ned Graphics to execute designs, color reduce, and manipulate purchased artwork.
  • Analyze artwork for best print execution and techniques.
  • Ensure prints meet scale and placement specifications.
  • Manage artwork requests and deadlines to meet calendar dates.
  • Ensure final artwork meets production-ready standards.
  • Research current trends to create original artwork.
  • Collaborate with design on execution and business needs.
  • Expand knowledge of current trends, color, and technical skills.
  • Manage paperwork and downloads of purchased artwork.
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital libraries and archives.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Ned Graphics, or related programs.
  • Strong artistic background with the ability to create conceptual and final art in various mediums.
  • Knowledge of print and textile design.
  • Familiarity with current trends, color, and design.
  • Self-motivated and skilled at managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS/BFA in Graphic Design, Textile Design, Illustration, or related field.
  • Experience in design, preferably in the retail or textile industry.
  • 4+ years of applied print/graphics experience.
