Job Description

At geocgi we pride ourselves on not losing our focus. We started out and remain GIS experts (or geeks. . . depending on your perspective). Since 2006, we’ve evolved into a world-class and world-wide service provider of multiple disciplines. We are a talented, hardworking group that shares values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. Geocgi is looking for a part-time Media Analyst to support our Media Analysis team in monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting media trends and policy developments impacting the industry. The responsibilities of the Media Analyst include:

  • Media Monitoring & Analysis:
    • Monitoring traditional and digital media sources, including news outlets, social media platforms, and industry publications for relevant content and trends in the federal government and the GIS market.
    • Tracking policy changes, and emerging trends that could impact our consulting strategies.
  • Data Collection & Reporting:
    • Gathering and organizing media data into actionable insights and preparing regular reports for internal stakeholders.
    • Assisting in developing and refining analysis frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure media impact.
  • Research & Collaboration:
    • Conducting in-depth research on market developments and technological innovations related to GIS and federal government initiatives.
    • Collaborating with team members and senior analysts to develop briefing materials, presentations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Database Management:
    • Maintaining and updating internal databases of media sources, contact lists, and trend metrics.
    • Ensuring data accuracy and assisting in creating visualizations to support analytical findings.

Qualities:

  • Outgoing, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative to search for solutions to team problems.
  • Highly organized and able to maintain several projects at one time.
  • An above-average communicator, comfortable with writing for external audiences, as well as public speaking.

As an employee of geocgi, the candidate will have access to a generous benefits package, in addition to a corporate culture and community of GIS geeks. Our benefits include but are not limited to:

  • Competitive salaries, commensurate with experience and leading Federal Contractors.
  • Opportunities for upward mobility in a dynamic fast paced environment within a small company.
  • Merit-based spot and end of year bonuses.
  • Safe Harbor 401(k) plan with immediate vesting.
  • Flexible work hours and PTO.
  • Complete Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for individuals.
  • Company paid training, certifications, and professional growth and development.

The following are requirements of the Media Analyst:

  • US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with an aptitude for identifying patterns and trends in data.
  • Basic understanding of GIS concepts and their application within government and consulting environments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and creatively problem-solve.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data visualization tools.
