Job Title: Director of Photography
Job Location: Grapevine, Texas, (address would be shared with candidates following offer acceptance).
Job Duration: 3 Day short-term assignment (supporting an off-site project)

Schedule - 3/8: 4 hours for setup; 3/9: 10 hours for full-day production; 3/10: 4-5 hours for morning production, strike, pack-up/ship gear

We are seeking a talented Director of Photography to lead our production team on location during shoots. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing dynamic live-action interviews, leveraging both your creative vision and technical expertise to elevate our productions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production crew on set, collaborating closely with the producer to ensure seamless execution.
  • Direct and provide clear instructions to the Assistant Camera, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Direct the setup of equipment according to the production plan and specific project requirements.
  • Ensure the high-quality capture of the provided shot list and storyboard, maintaining visual integrity.
  • Oversee all aspects of cinematography, including lighting, camera operation, and shot composition, to achieve desired visual outcomes.
  • Uphold aesthetic and technical standards throughout the production process.
  • Implement advanced lighting techniques to enhance mood and atmosphere, aligning with creative vision.
  • Utilize lenses, filters, and other tools to achieve desired visual effects and enhance storytelling.
  • Coordinate set elements to ensure compatibility and optimal performance with camera equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly during production to minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain visual consistency and quality across all content, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Skills:
  • Experience in news, documentary filmmaking, or corporate settings is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within small crews and adapt to various on-set roles as needed.
  • Extensive portfolio showcasing a diverse range of video projects, highlighting technical and creative expertise.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard cinema cameras and related equipment.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and color theory to create compelling visual narratives.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to guide and inspire the team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under pressure to meet tight deadlines with efficiency.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Filmmaking, Cinematography, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Over 5 years of production experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, demonstrating strong team management skills.
