Job Description:

The Studio Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the following studios at The Fort Athletic Club: Hot Zone, Base Ops and Flight School. This includes overseeing the daily activities of each studio, leading and motivating instructors, ensuring high-quality fitness programs are delivered, and maintaining a positive and safe environment for members. The Director will work closely with other departments, including EYS and Bunker, to meet goals and maintain the center's reputation as a top fitness facility. This is an on site, full time position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Studio Operations Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of each studio
    • Ensure that all fitness equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition
    • Ensure all studios are clean, organized, and safe for members at all times
  2. Team Leadership & Training:
    • Hire, train, and manage a team of fitness instructors
    • Schedule and assign class times, ensuring all shifts are covered
    • Provide ongoing support, feedback, and performance evaluations for instructors
    • Organize professional development opportunities for instructors
  3. Program Development & Execution:
    • Develop and implement a variety of fitness programs and classes based on market trends and member needs
    • Ensure that all fitness classes are engaging, safe, and align with the center’s fitness standards
    • Monitor class attendance and member feedback to adjust offerings as needed
  4. Member Engagement:
    • Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for members
    • Address and resolve member complaints, concerns, or issues related to fitness classes
    • Promote fitness programs and events to increase member participation
  5. Marketing & Promotions:
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the studios’ programs and classes
    • Help in organizing fitness events, challenges, or workshops to engage members
    • Track and analyze membership retention and engagement levels
  6. Budgeting & Financial Management:
    • Assist with creating and managing the studio’s budget, ensuring financial goals are met
    • Monitor costs, including instructor salaries and equipment, and identify opportunities for cost savings
    • Help in the pricing strategy for fitness programs and memberships
  7. Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, including fitness class safety standards
    • Ensure that all instructors are certified and compliant with relevant fitness regulations

Qualifications:

  • Certification in group fitness, personal training, or specialized fitness programs (e.g., yoga, cycling)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a fitness-related management or leadership role
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency/experience in using fitness software or scheduling platforms
  • Passion for health and fitness with a customer-focused approach

Compensation:

  • Annual salary of $40,000-$65,000
