JOB DESCRIPTION:
Accessibility Engineer or Web Accessibility Developer: Web developer who can understand, navigate, and adhere to the accessibility standards Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and other global guidelines. An ideal candidate would have the following; • Experience with implementing accessibility features using appropriate HTML elements, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast checks, form optimization, error states, labeling and displaying data • An understanding of image alt text and accessibility testing (manual and automated testing) • Experience with automated and manual testing tools to identify and remediate accessibility issues • Collaboration skills to work with UX and Product Design teams • Knowledge of best practices for adapting experiences for video and audio content; providing transcripts for videos, captions for audio content, and accessible PDF documents • Preferred candidate will have deep knowledge of the WCAG guidelines and understanding of accessibility principles
