Job Description
The Web Developer will be responsible for performing web development, computer programming, and database integration to advance the goals of a program office within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs by auditing, developing, and maintaining internal and external intranet sites, websites, and SharePoint sites for multiple programs and projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Build, design, enhance, modernize, and maintain new and existing SharePoint, Internet, and Intranet websites supporting U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program offices and initiatives, ensuring alignment with federal standards and requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and modifications of all existing websites’ content, usability, design, standardization, branding, messaging, layout, and navigation to improve overall functionality and user experience.
- Identify and correct incorrect or outdated content and broken links.
- Develop templates for new websites, including mockups for home pages, inner content pages, form processing, and special pages requiring unique formatting or layouts.
- Ensure all templates align with branding and messaging goals to inform website design.
- Standardize design elements to maintain consistent branding across all program websites.
- Perform web development tasks requiring integration with databases to support data collection, statistical analysis, and visualization of progress towards achieving organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to create dynamic and interactive data visualization tools.
- Implement database solutions for efficient content management and user interaction.
- Develop and implement a website management plan and directory to ensure accuracy, standardization, and usability across all program websites.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for all developed and existing websites, ensuring optimal performance, security, and functionality.
- Offer technical assistance and training to users, including drafting user guides and documentation.
- Articulate and assist the customer with defining and refining product requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and data analysts, to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to understand business needs and user requirements.
- BA/BS degree is required.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in web development, computer programming, and database integration.
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining SharePoint, Internet, and Intranet websites using content management systems (CMS) and design tools, with strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Proficiency in using a comprehensive suite of development tools and technologies, including:
- SharePoint, Power BI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Visio, Teams, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Angular, Bootstrap, SQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with VA program offices and initiatives, particularly in website development and maintenance.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and best practices for creating user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience in developing dynamic data visualization tools using Power BI and other visualization libraries.
- Familiarity with government compliance standards for website accessibility and security.
- Experience in branding and messaging strategy for website content and design.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to train and mentor team members and end-users on web applications and tools.

Profit-sharing/Performance Bonus: Rios Partners is committed to ensuring the success of the organization benefits the entire team. As such, a portion of profits is paid out to employees. The total amount of Profit-Sharing/Performance Bonus distributed to the team may vary year to year and will depend on numerous factors, including market conditions, company performance, and individual performance.
Retirement plan: Rios Partners offers a 401(k) and contributes an amount equivalent to 3% of the employee’s base salary each month to the designated fund. Employees may choose to contribute additional money into the 401(k) from their paycheck each month.
Health and Vision insurance: Rios Partners covers 90% of the premium for both the employee and their dependents for Platinum plans health coverage through United Healthcare; this includes coverage for both medical and vision insurance.
Dental insurance: Rios Partners covers 90% of the premium for both the employee and their dependents for a dental insurance plan through Delta Dental.
Disability insurance: Rios Partners will pay 100% of the premium for both short-term and long-term disability insurance provided through Guardian.
Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays: You will be eligible for three weeks of PTO (15 days) and 12 paid holidays each year. In additional accrued PTO, Rios Partners provides additional time off for both expected and unexpected events (e.g., Bereavement Leave, Jury Duty, Voting).
Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Leave: Rios Partners celebrates employees’ choice to become parents. We are also aware that pregnancy and caring for an infant or a newly adopted child may cause additional life complexities. As such, we provide employees twelve (12) weeks of paid leave in association with the birth of an employee’s own child or the placement of a child with the employee in connection with adoption or foster care. To be eligible for Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave Program, team members must: 1) Have worked at Rios Partners full-time for a minimum of 12 continuous months. 2) Be in good employment standing with Rios Partners (i.e., not on probation). 3) Request leave a minimum of 30 days in advance if possible. If this is not possible, please place your request as soon as possible once you become aware of it. Regardless of eligibility for the Rios Partners Maternity/Paternity/Adoption Leave Program, all Rios Partners employees are eligible for the Department of Labor’s Family and Medical Leave Act entitlements as well as Rios Partners Short Term Disability plan.
