Tarjimly is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2017 with a mission to eliminate language barriers for refugees, immigrants, and humanitarian workers. Through our mobile app, we connect people in need with a global network of over 65,000 volunteer translators, offering real-time language support through chat, calls, and document translation.
We are committed to creating an intuitive and user-friendly experience for our diverse global community, including NGOs and displaced individuals.
About The Role
We are looking for a
creative, passionate and user-focused UI/UX Designer
for a short-term role (2-3 months) to help improve and expand Tarjimly’s digital platforms and conceptualise new and potential features. You will be instrumental in
conceptualising and designing new features for our mobile and web applications, refining the existing user experience where needed, and conducting research with our users
to ensure our product is accessible and impactful. Your work will directly contribute to making language support more effective and accessible for refugees and humanitarian organizations worldwide. Responsibilities Design and ideate on new features and concepts for Tarjimly’s mobile and web applications. Re-conceptualize the user experience of the Tarjimly app where needed. Enhance the existing user experience of the Tarjimly app where needed. Conduct user research, focus groups, and usability testing to gather insights. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs that align with user needs. Collaborate with our growth team and product team to implement and iterate on designs. Ensure accessibility and usability for diverse global users, including NGOs and refugees. Desired Experience & Skills Required Proven experience in UI/UX design for mobile and web applications. We’ll be looking for a strong portfolio with clear designs built around user needs. Strong understanding of user needs and how to design around them. Experience conducting user research, focus groups, and usability testing. Passion for ethics-driven, social impact, and humanitarian work Clear communication skills, and ability to communicate design ideas effectively Independent, self-driven, and proactive with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a dynamic remote team.
