The Graphic Designer will develop digital and print assets for advertising, fundraising, promotion, production, and other Buffalo Toronto Public Media marketing and promotional needs for our family of stations. The designer will visually shape concepts, often independently, to effectively communicate impactful messages to our target audiences, using innovative tools to meet the organization's diverse communication needs. This position requires a significant amount of invention, originality, creativity and skill.
This position is full-time with hybrid permitted
. In summary, this individual will:
Design and produce engaging assets for social media, email campaigns, digital ads, digital billboards, video thumbnails, and other digital or print media needs
Manage and execute multiple projects from concept to final delivery, adhering to brand guidelines, while effectively prioritizing and organizing tasks
Create innovative design concepts, graphics, and layouts to elevate digital marketing efforts
Collaborate with teams across the organization to meet promotional timelines and ensures timely delivery; understand our various audiences and promote cross-promotion where possible
Produce print materials such as marketing collateral, ads, signage, postcards, and invitations; coordinate and communicate with vendors as needed.
Utilize designated tools, platforms and systems to create and efficiently carry out assignments
Work closely with video editors, preparing files and creating assets for on-air graphics, including animations of logos / bugs, lower thirds, and other broadcast elements as needed.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in graphic design with an emphasis on digital
Proficiency in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), Microsoft Office Suite, and creating Canva templates
Familiarity with utilizing and managing project flows in project management software (e.g., Asana) a plus
Ability to prioritize, work independently, and adhere to deadlines
Enthusiastic, motivated, innovative, problem-solving, and creative team player
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent attention to detail with a solid understanding of brand guidelines and design best practices
