The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Equipment & Tool Designer (Asset Design) located in Berkeley, MO. As a member of the team, you will have the unique opportunity to support the fabrication and assembly for the next generation Air Force Trainer, bombers and tactical fighter aircraft, autonomous air vehicles, rotorcraft, advanced airborne sensors, space vehicles, satellites, weapons systems, the commercial fleet of single and twin aisle airplanes and much more. Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision. Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan. Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work. Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training. Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration. Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.   This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. ~ An interim and/or final U.Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. 4+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years of work-related experience with an Associate’s degree OR 8+ years of work-related experience in tool design or tool fabrication ~ Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
