Job Description

About Us:

FreshCut Paper is a rapidly growing and evolving design forward startup. We are entering into the $8 Billion cut flower industry with a green, cost effective contemporary alternative.

Created by renowned designer Peter Hewitt in 2020. Our life-sized pop-up floral bouquets consist of breathtaking blooms that are wilt-proof, care free, and non allergenic. We are poised to take a bite out of the $8 billion fresh cut flower industry and the $6 billion greeting card market. Our product is a compelling, contemporary, alternative way to send flowers.

Beyond having a fraction of the carbon footprint of imported flowers, we plant a tree for every bouquet sold, and are partners with 1% for the Planet and ASPCA.

Our beautiful office is located in the historical Bradford Mill alongside a community of start-ups and artists.

Opportunity:
We are looking for a talented and creative Illustration Intern to join our team for the summer. This is an exciting opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, collaborating with our design team, and developing their skills in a professional environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Work alongside lead designers to refine and perfect illustrations based on feedback.
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table in product planning sessions—your concepts will be shaped by trends and consumer insights.
  • Help develop moodboards, patterns, product graphics, and packaging designs that will make an impact.

Who you are:

  • Strong eye for color, composition, and a natural sense of aesthetics.
  • Comfortable working digitally.
  • Adaptable and excited to thrive in a fast-moving, ever-evolving creative space.
  • Organized, communicative, and always eager to learn something new.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects—we'd love to see highly detailed botanical illustrations and versatility across digital and traditional mediums.
    • Bonus skills: Typography, ability to think in 3D, and experience working with paper (not required but a plus!).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for illustration with a solid grasp of Illustrator.
  • A keen eye for detail, to ensure designs go from good to great.
  • Availability to work on-site full-time to get the most out of this experience.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Illustration or a related field.

Benefits

  • Real-world experience in a professional creative environment.
  • Mentorship from experienced illustrators and designers.
  • The chance to contribute to actual products that will be manufactured and sold.
  • Full-time, paid internship, $25/hour
