Summer Intern - Communications Production Assistant

This internship is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring communications professional to get hands-on experience as a production assistant, working alongside the ChristianaCare Communications team in a video/podcast studio environment as well as on-location to support storytelling and public relations activities. The production assistant intern will primarily assist in the production, editing and promotion of ChristianaCare’s For the Love of Health podcast. Other projects will include the photography and videography of ChristianaCare events, and writing and collaboration in the development of communications plans and storytelling opportunities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with pre-production needs in the ChristianaCare studio, such as camera settings, audio and set design.
  • Attend recordings done in the ChristianaCare studio and assist as needed per shoot.
  • Assist with the transcription, editing and promotion of ChristianaCare’s For the Love of Health podcast.
  • Photograph ChristianaCare events for publishing across ChristianaCare’s social media channels and websites.
  • Create social video content for publication on ChristianaCare’s TikTok and Instagram accounts.
  • Write articles, social media posts, internal communications and other needs as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma is required OR GED
  • Enrollment in higher education (associate, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree) within related field such as journalism, television production or communications.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to edit audio and video using Adobe Creative Suite applications (Premiere, Audition).
  • Ability to use a DSLR camera to shoot both photo and video.
  • Fluency in studio production, such as podcast recordings or public service announcements.  
  • Fluency with social media, including strategy and engagement.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
