Job Title: Account Manager / Sales Representative

Reports To: Director of Sales

Job Summary:

The Account Manager is to be the point person for their assigned customers, responsible for everything from quotations to entering and expediting orders and leading all problem resolution to satisfactory conclusion for both the customer and HORST. The Account Manager needs to be able to work independently using their knowledge and experience in a machine shop environment, constructing and running reports to provide analytics on Customers. The Account Manager is the customer advocate for his customers, always striving for the best possible performance, while at the same time ensuring that Horst meets its on-time, on-quality and on-cost goals.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely quotations to customers, ensuring alignment with company pricing strategies and customer requirements.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage customer contracts and purchase orders while holding customers accountable to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Process and oversee contract modifications, including engineering, quality, pricing, and other related changes, ensuring compliance and clear communication.
  • Conduct business analysis and generate analytic reports on customer accounts, schedule adherence, and market trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer behavior, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proactively monitor and promote on-time deliveries, working closely with internal teams to resolve potential delays and meet customer expectations.
  • Track and follow up on submitted customer quotations to ensure timely responses and conversion into orders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating delivery schedules, commercial terms, and technical requirements with internal departments.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing communication with customers via phone, email, and in-person visits to enhance relationships and address concerns promptly.
  • Organize and facilitate customer on-site and off-site visits, ensuring a positive and informative experience.
  • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships to drive satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
  • Collaborate with management to plan, coordinate, and represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives and enhance customer service.

Experience & Skills:

  • BA or BS college degree plus 3+ years experience in inside sales and service in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to learn Horsts ERP systems.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing ERP system, EPICOR Preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to ensure that all tasks are completed in the best possible manner for both the customer and Horst.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Government contract experience preferred
