Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions. We seek engineers that are versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools. For this position, the UI/UX Engineer will develop advanced capabilities for armament systems at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The role includes design and implementation of software modules for new fire control systems based on established requirements, with strong consideration for interoperability and software architecture openness.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Rapidly create UI mockups and wireframes to assist in the development of the system.

Design and build efficient, well tested, and reusable User Interface custom components designs for JAVA and JavaScript based applications.

Work with developers of interactive programs to optimize user experience.

Work with users to improve application navigation and effective access to services and content.

Analyze and interpret requirements from Architecture and the User-centered Design Team.

Ensure consistency with an established software development architecture.

Serve as an integral member of the development team to create practical solutions in Agile/DevOps environment.

Support customer engagements and interacting with system users to capture requirements and feedback as required.

Follow Agile and Scrum best practices, maintain JIRA task log, use a suite of DevSecOps tools including JIRA, Confluence, GitLab. Maintain strong configuration management for newly developed software features

Authoring design, interface, and user documentation

Participate in Soldier Touchpoints and evaluate feedback on the system

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent degree, or previous work experience

Experience developing in:

UI Mockup SW (i.e. Figma, Adobe XD)

Material Design best practices

JAVA / JavaScript Applications and Architectures

Developed compelling User Interfaces and Visualizations that operate at Big Data scales

Experience with Development, Build and Configuration tools for example the Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence)

Excellent organizational, communications, problem-solving and people skills, be a self-starter, and enjoy being part of and contributing to a hard-working team.

Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Must be able to travel. Anticipated travel level 5%-10%.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

Software development lifecycle experience (SDLC), especially within the DoD

Experience with Government standards and procedures.

Experience with or knowledge of DoD and/or U.S. Army tactical applications or fire control systems.

User engagement in the field to capture workflows and design considerations.

Team leadership is a plus.

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
