The Prime Video Shopping organization is looking for a full-stack data scientist to drive data-powered innovation to our video streaming and shopping experiences. This role will partner closely with product and software engineering teams to build end-to-end data science solutions that involve predictive models, causal inference, large scale data storage and retrieval, and data visualizations - propelling the creation of new groundbreaking customer experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and is passionate about data and analytics. The candidate is a well-rounded data scientist with broad skills across data engineering, advanced analytics, statistics, applied ML, and passionately partners with the business to identify strategic opportunities where data science creates large-scale business impact. The candidate should be a self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big, and enjoy working in a fast-paced and global team. Key job responsibilities

· Leverage advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract insights from complex, large-scale data sets

· Develop and optimize models to improve the Prime Video Shopping experience

· Design and implement end-to-end data science workflows, from data acquisition and cleaning to model development, testing, and deployment

· Utilize data from disparate data sources to build meaningful datasets for analytics, reporting and ML use cases

· Partner with product and business stakeholders to identify strategic data-driven opportunities to improve the customer experience

· Communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

· Stay up-to-date on the latest data science tools, techniques, and best practices and help evangelize them across the organization

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science

4+ years of data scientist experience

5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience

Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience

Experience managing data pipelines

Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team

Knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
