Job Summary

The Associate Creative Director at Old Dominion University will support the implementation of the strategic enrollment management plan to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll future students. As a member of the Enrollment Marketing & Analytics team, the Associate will provide design expertise and creative strategy to Enrollment Management, while maintaining University brand standards. This position plays an active role, alongside the Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing, in leading creative projects and developing visual and storytelling elements for both digital and traditional marketing campaigns.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, marketing, or a related field. Or a Bachelor’s degree and equivalent related experience in previously mentioned fields.

Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; Microsoft Office).

Considerable understanding of digital marketing and advertising principles.

Considerable knowledge of branding/marketing and communications tactics and strategies

Exceptional graphic design skills.

Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to stakeholders.

Demonstrated success in managing creative campaigns and brand consistency.

Demonstrated skill in working effectively in a team setting to achieve goals.

Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to use the web, video, news media and social networking sites for marketing purposes.

Considerable experience with brand marketing/communications in a professional setting.

Considerable experience developing creative content for marketing or advertising campaigns.

Working experience training and supervising staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions that drive enrollment and brand awareness in a complex organization.

Comprehensive experience managing creative strategy and design for both digital and traditional marketing platforms.

Considerable experience working within brand guidelines, particularly in complex organizations.

Proven experience in the higher education landscape, with an understanding of its unique marketing challenges.
