Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Social Media Specialist/Content Creator to join the team of a popular right-leaning comedy podcast. If you’re passionate about comedy, pop culture, daily news, and politics—and know your way around a podcast production—this might be the perfect fit for you!
This role involves developing innovative social media strategies, creating engaging content, managing our platforms, and building a vibrant online community. Success in this position depends on being a self-starter, a creative thinker, and someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role. While most of your work can be done remotely, occasional in-person collaboration will be required, especially for planning content around big-name guests or brainstorming sessions with the host. Applicants must reside in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and execute engaging social media content across platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Curate and maintain a detailed content calendar to ensure consistent posting and audience engagement.
- Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to drive growth and engagement.
- Brainstorm and implement fresh strategies based on emerging trends.
Analytics and Optimization:
- Monitor social media performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Use data insights to refine strategies and achieve measurable growth aligned with the show’s goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in social media management, with proven success.
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Strong understanding of analytics tools and performance metrics.
- Ability to efficiently edit clips with a fast turnaround time.
- A passion for comedy, daily news, politics, and pop culture.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of podcasting and the YouTube ecosystem.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Position Details:
- Type: Part-Time (32 hours or less/week).
- Schedule: Flexible, with availability on weekends as needed.
- Pay: $25–$30/hour, based on experience.
