Job Description
- Develop ground-up design concepts and solutions for new product development challenges.
- Design, modify, improve, & remodel cast, molded, machined, sheet-metal, welded or other parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Complete design changes by using (ECN) engineering change process.
- Create and review prints for proper dimensioning, tolerancing, callouts, BOM's and accuracy.
- Manage complex BOM's to effectively implement changes across numerous product lines and SKU's.
- Communicate with quality, manufacturing, marketing, sourcing and suppliers to refine design requirements as required such as part manufacturability changes.
- Order, test and validate samples and prototypes for design changes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing for manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, molding, fabrication, etc.
- 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks (or comparable CAD systems) including advanced modeling.
- 3+ years of experience with engineering change/revision control (ECN) or similar processing of product line changes.
- Excellent print comprehension and detailing skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with machines and assemblies. Note: we work primarily with mixers and slicers.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good learning agility and willingness to learn new skills.
- Must be task-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate PC skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and general computer system proficiency.
- Optional: Associate's (2-yr.) degree in mechanical engineering or similar

- You will work in a team-oriented office and laboratory environment.
- PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection in manufacturing setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
