About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a creative and professional General Manager to help administer our music school in Northbrook, IL. The General Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for our students, families, and teachers to ensure the smooth functioning of our day-to-day operations.
Primary responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will be an organized, motivated self-starter with a strong customer service mindset. A demonstrated interest in Music and Music Education would be an asset.
We offer health, vision, and dental benefits to all of our employees working at least 30 hours per week, and a 401(k) with company matching to all employees regardless of schedule.

This posting is for Christopher Laughlin School of Music, our school in Northbrook, IL. The Christopher Laughlin School of Music started in 1996 as the Christopher Laughlin Classical Guitar Studio in Glenview, IL. Over the years, Christopher Laughlin consolidated all of his teaching into one location and gradually added more teachers, more lesson programs, and more space. The respected CLSM currently has a highly qualified and esteemed faculty of 19 music teachers who inspire, motivate, and ignite the hearts and minds of approximately 240 music students per week.

Pay Range: $40,000-45,000 per year with 5% profit sharing
Ensemble Schools is seeking a creative and professional General Manager to help administer our music school in Northbrook, IL. The General Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for our students, families, and teachers to ensure the smooth functioning of our day-to-day operations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Responding to phone calls and emails from students and families regarding enrollment, scheduling, and other requests for information
- Hiring, scheduling, and interfacing with teachers to help them manage their student schedules
- Helping to manage our website, newsletters, and social media presence to represent the school to our local community
- Assisting payroll team in verifying attendance and approving time-off requests
- Helping to organize and execute student performance opportunities and other community events
- Assuring all facilities are properly stocked and teachers are fully supported with any necessary equipment/materials
- General administrative tasks as needed
