Communications Specialist - Web Developer
to support high-priority
Front Office (FO) communications . This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-visibility impact on an evolving mission that requires a self-motivated, creative individual to work with a talented and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in
Strategic Communications and Joomla web development , ensuring effective digital engagement and content management
Job Responsibilities Develop and distribute internal communications aligned with strategic messaging. Draft and publish workforce messages promoting
FO events
such as
All Hands meetings . Gather and summarize key topics for the
weekly newsletter
to engage the workforce. Design and maintain websites that adhere to
best practices, accessibility guidelines, and branding requirements . Build, modify, and enhance website functionality using
Joomla, HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
and other relevant technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and technical teams to develop and update digital content. Create and implement
visually appealing, user-friendly
web pages and newsletters. Ensure compliance with
Section 508, GDPR, CCCA , and other regulatory standards. Identify and resolve website issues, coordinating with IT and external vendors as needed. Monitor and analyze
website performance
using
Google Analytics , reporting on key metrics. Gather content requirements and update web
text, images, videos, and multimedia . Provide
editorial quality control
and support
mass email distribution
via
EDGE Mass Email Tool . Format, design, and troubleshoot
automated subscription emails
in
Joomla Acymailing , providing performance metrics. Work with FO staff to develop and deploy
new communication strategies . Act as a
technical liaison
between users, managers, and developers. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph required Bachelor's degree (four years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of a degree) and fifteen (15) years or more experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (10) years or more experience. Extensive experience in
Strategic Communications
and
Joomla CMS web development Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong
project management
skills; ability to
manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Creative mindset
with a keen eye for
design and user experience (UI/UX) Knowledge of
website UX, accessibility compliance
(Section 508, GDPR, CCCA) Strong
analytical skills
with a
data-driven approach
to content optimization Familiarity with
Adobe Creative Suite
(Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) Proficiency in
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, GitHub Experience with
SharePoint, WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft OneNote
