SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Communications Director is responsible for developing, organizing and executing effective communications messages and strategies that engage both the church and community audiences. This role works closely with church leadership and ministry leaders to ensure clear, consistent messaging that aligns with the church’s vision and priorities. The Communications Director strives to ensure consistency and effective communications with both internal and external audiences. Additionally, they oversee the church’s marketing and communication strategies, ensuring timely communication across all platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions ensuring communication priorities align with church initiatives. Help strategize a 6–12-month communications and marketing plan to support church-wide and ministry-specific initiatives. Manage and maintain the church’s brand/identity. Proactively plan and work with ministries to support/guide their communications efforts. Develop and/or oversee processes and tools that foster effective communications flow. Demonstrate expertise in communications and marketing strategy, writing/editing, graphic design and social media, with a strong focus on audience engagement. Oversee the church website, mobile app, and social media platforms, ensuring engaging, relevant, and timely content aligned with the church’s digital ministry strategy. Create, edit and manage digital and print content. Capture and share stories of life change and impact. Measure and report engagement across various platforms. Carry out the day-to-day tasks of facilitating communications/marketing. Network with other church communications teams. Lead and manage team members, assistants and/or volunteers to help implement multi-channel communications strategies and tactics. QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong work ethic; excellent communication skills; Team player; ability to learn fast and execute quickly. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to innovate and cast vision for how we communicate at Illuminate. Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task efficiently. Knowledge of and proficiency in the following:

Highly functional both behind the scenes and out front. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Have a team-first mentality focused on collaboration and communal betterment. Serve as an excellent example of Christian witness to the community within and outside the church. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Constant sitting, standing, moving and viewing of screens.
