The Role and What You'll Do:
On Location is looking for a Production Designer responsible for assisting and creating full design plans, drawings, and visuals for large scale events across multiple venues. Working with the Director, Design and other production partners, the Production Designer will be skilled in creating comprehensive drawing layouts, 2/3D visuals, and strong presentation decks to assist in the overall project designs. Strong SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD skills are a must. High value will be placed on individuals who are self-motivated and take full ownership of their tasks. They should be flexible, hardworking and have extreme attention to detail even when working on tight deadlines.
  • Work with the Design Team & Event Production teams to aid in the creation of key design deliverables for multiple overlapping projects.
  • Create layouts and technical drawings to communicate plans internally & externally.
  • Develop 2/3D visual assets and environments.
  • Create presentations and decks to communicate design ideas to the team.
  • Utilize design tools including SketchUp, Vectorworks, Keyshot, (or related 3D software) Photoshop/Illustrator, Powerpoint/Keynote and other programs as needed.
  • Develop visuals while adhering to brand and partner guidelines
  • Positive work ethic, approachable, collaborative, good under pressure, results-oriented, a problem-solver.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, self-motivation, initiative, and ownership of their tasks.
  • Time-management skills: meets project deliverables and timelines
  • Follow administrative procedures for timesheets, time off requests, and other HR needs
  • Keep up to date with any deliverables the Project Management team needs for billing purposes


You Have These:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ Years Experience in fields such as Architectural Design / Event Design / Experiential Marketing / Event Production / Theatre
  • A strong handle of key programs: SketchUp, Adobe Design Suite, AutoCAD (Ideally VWX), Keyshot (or similar rendering software) and MS Office Suite
  • Great visual eye for style and branding control
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work autonomously - taking ownership of your workload and able to juggle several projects at one time
  • Approachable, collaborative, results-oriented, problem-solver who can both provide and take direction well
  • Attention to detail, carefully following instructions, and checking work for accuracy
  • Good timekeeping and work ethic that is characterized by commitment, motivation, and energy


We'd Love If You Also Have These:
  • Artistic, sketching or additional 3D, rendering or Adobe Suite skills a plus
  • Experience working on large scale events a plus
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs


Travel: Must be adaptable with work and travel schedule and be available to travel for work which may include extended work hours during nights, weekends, and holidays. This position may require up to 10% travel.
