The Northwest Arkansas Newspapers has an opening for the position of Weekly Vista Editor in Bella Vista, Arkansas. This role presents an opportunity for a seasoned editorial leader to influence the voice of our publication and connect with our readers on a deeper level. As the Weekly Vista Editor, you will manage the editorial team, guiding reporters and correspondents in producing engaging news, sports, and feature articles that resonate with our audience.


Your responsibilities will include directing the editorial staff to ensure the delivery of a high-quality weekly newspaper in print and digital formats. You'll work closely with production and web teams to uphold content standards. Staying updated on national and local news trends will be crucial to maintaining the relevance and engagement of our content. Collaboration with the managing editor and other weekly editors will also be vital in strategizing and implementing editorial initiatives.


We are looking for candidates with a strong reporting, editing, and project management background and a keen eye for detail. Experience engaging readers through various media platforms, both digital and print, is essential. A solid understanding of news elements, editorial guidelines, and legal considerations related to libel and defamation is also required. Additionally, key qualifications include exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.


A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or a related field is required. Candidates must have at least three years of professional news experience at a weekly newspaper or a similar publication. Additionally, candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record, as reliable transportation is necessary to fulfill the job duties.
