The New School Information Technology is looking for a driven and talented person to support the work of and report to the Senior Director of the Innovation Center. The Innovation Center is a new research center at The New School home for the XR, AI and Quantum Labs. Its purpose is to advance the study and design innovation of emerging technologies in the areas of virtual, augmented, and mixed realities, artificial intelligence and Quantum Computing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Innovation Center, XR lab and Hub on a daily basis by troubleshooting and maintaining all technology and peripheral devices to ensure end-user satisfaction.
- Asset management of XR devices and other equipment.
- Assist faculty/students/researchers with the set-up of labs prior to workshops, class visit experiences, and research studies.
- Provide accurate, time-sensitive, and effective solutions/assistance to faculty/researchers.
- Support the XR lab on a daily basis by troubleshooting and maintaining all equipment, technology and peripheral devices to ensure end-user satisfaction.
- Lead Unity Workshops and tutoring sessions for students and faculty and assist with the development of training materials, videos and related media.
- Create 3D objects, digital graphics, and other visual assets.
- Assist with media content development and deployment on multiple platforms and screens.
- Manage distribution of tool licenses and media content.
- Provide on-going technical support, documentation, training, and assistance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience assisting others when working with technology.
- Experience delivering tutoring sessions. Ability to explain technical concepts in an accessible manner.
- Knowledge of Unity, C++ programming for Unreal Engine.
- Experience developing apps using AR/VR Platforms.
- Web Design skills (XAMPP/HTML5/CSS/WordPress).
- Interaction design experience.
- Experience with industry 3D modeling & texturing packages.
- Proficiency and understanding of digital sculpting, modeling and texturing.
- Knowledge of Three.JS or Web GL is advantageous.
- Professional and proactive work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask and thrive under tight deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate or Master degree in the fields of computer science, design and technology, new media and/or relevant experience.
- Experience with Blender, Rhino, Maya.
- Experience with Quest 2/3, or Hololens/Magic Leap is a plus.
WORK MODE
- Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time offsite. #LI-HYBRID
- Work hours 9 am - 5 pm except between September to November and February to April 1 pm - 9 pm
